A Note From Addison:

Hello, I am Addison, a birth and newborn care specialist trained as a birth doula, postpartum doula, breastfeeding counselor, and childbirth educator. After nearly a decade of working very closely with families as a nanny and feeling like I was in the right place but the wrong role, I came across a job listing for a doula. Every part of me began to tingle as I read it. It was like reading about my dream job and I knew immediately it was the next right thing for me.

Once I got a taste, there was no looking back; birth became my world and for me, that’s living the dream. I’ve learned that confidence is key in creating an ideal birth experience so my practice emphasizes empowerment. I strive to build strong and meaningful relationships with my clients by providing them with education and encouragement so they have everything they need to feel confident and capable.

I am new to the Indy area, so I am often out exploring in my free time. I was born in Montana and have also lived in Denver, Colorado and Portland, Oregon. I am excited to be living this far east for the first time in my life! At home I enjoy various homestead-type hobbies including sewing and quilting, baking, cooking, and gardening, etc. I am mama to a couple of very spoiled fur babies; a large cat named Keva and an energetic border collie named Rory. One to keep me active and one to keep me grounded! I love learning new things, especially languages, so I am currently learning ASL. I am a bit of a superhero nerd, thanks to my wonderful partner in life, Tyler. We can often be caught quoting movies or singing theme songs and even sporting a pair of matching Wonder Woman and Batman tattoos. We dream of someday travelling the world and experiencing different cultures and climates firsthand.

I am passionate about childbirth education and advocacy. Being a doula has given me the perfect opportunity to throw myself into doing just that and it’s a role I truly cherish being able to serve. I believe I have found the place where my life’s work begins and I am excited for the ride!
