What is a Doula?

A Childbirth Doula is a professional member of your birth team who provides physical and emotional support to you and your partner during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. 

How do they help in Labor?

What doesn't a Doula do?

We are not medical providers, so we do not perform clinical tasks or medical procedures. We also do not give medical advice in place of your care provider. We are there to strictly support you physically and emotionally through labor, and ensure that you are advocated for and taken care of by your care provider.

Doulas decrease . . . 

- the risk of cesarean by 39%

- the length of labor by 41 minutes on average

- in the use of medications in labor by 10%

-the baby's risk of a low APGAR score by 38%

- chances of dissatisfaction of the birth experience by 31%
